We are a founding member along with several other churches in the area for Community Food Pantry in Tool, Texas. The Pantry is housed on our property and we continue our strong support by staffing the pantry 3 months of the year, providing for Weekend Food Backpacks, a monthly pledge, and board members who continue the important work of helping with food insecurity in our community.
Pantry Hours: MWF 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Tool Elementary School is just down the street from CCLUMC. We are committed to helping make a difference in the lives of our students. We support the staff at the beginning of the year with Cookies and Prayer and an abundance of school supplies for each classroom, to be used as they see fit. We have an afterschool program, Kids' Blast, that meets Mondays afterschool in the school cafeteria (temporarily delayed due to COVID).It's a time of building relationships, mentoring, tutoring, and sharing Jesus' love.
For more information on this program contact the Children's Director, Shawn-Renae.
We also supply underwear, shoes, socks, coats for distribution through the school nurse. Donations are always welcome.
Each year, CCLUMC hosts a community dinner. We serve 300-400 people with a holiday meal, caroling-music-singing, a Nativity photo booth, visits with Santa and gifts for the kids, crafts, and a hall full of friends and neighbors enjoying some time together. This dinner is a tradition for many people around the lake to kick-off their holiday season. Families, neighbors, and strangers alike gather around the tables after being served turkey, ham, potatoes, stuffing, green beans, rolls, gravy, and desserts. It's one way we can invite people to enjoy a "traditional holiday meal."
